Description
Everyone has some dream or desire for what pregnancy, labor and delivery, and bringing home baby will look like. While it is the hope everyone will get to have the experience they wish for and deserve; unfortunately, many parents encounter complications or trauma before, during, and after this process. I want to do whatever I can to help mothers and parents avoid and/or heal from complications in the perinatal period.
I utilize an eclectic approach combining CBT techniques with EMDR and ego states work along with more holistic interventions like aromatherapy, meditation, and somatic therapy to assist mothers with their transition to parenthood. My extensive training in EMDR allows me to also focus on and help heal the acute and chronic trauma that can occur during the perinatal time period.
Additional Information you may find helpful about me: I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I am an EMDRIA approved EMDR therapist and possess a PMH-C certification in perinatal mental health. Additionally, I have a certification in Trauma-Informed Yoga and Aromatherapy.
I am currently one of only three providers in Northern Virginia and five providers in all of Virginia to have dual certifications in Perinatal Mental Health and EMDR.
